Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to what clubs ask us most.

Getting Started

What is LeaseLedger?

LeaseLedger is an app for running a hunting camp, lease, or club. It gives your members a shared Morning Board for claiming stands and blinds, a harvest log, trail cam uploads, a club bulletin and private messages, and tools for officers: club rules, dues tracking, guest passes, and a to-do list. It runs in any web browser, on your phone or your computer.

Who is LeaseLedger built for?

Deer camps, duck clubs, family leases, and larger hunting clubs with multiple properties. If a group of people shares land, stands, or blinds and needs to keep track of who is hunting where, it's built for you.

How do I get started?

Sign up with your email address. After you confirm it, you can either create a new club (you become its admin) or join an existing club using the join code your club's admin gives you.

How do members join my club?

Every club has a join code, shown on the Roster page. Share it with your members. They sign up for LeaseLedger, go to the Join page, and enter the code.

Can I belong to more than one club?

Yes. If you're a member of more than one club, tap your club's name at the top of the page to switch between them. Each club's data stays separate.

Do I need to download an app?

No. LeaseLedger works in your phone's web browser. For an app-like experience, open leaseledgerhunt.com on your phone and use your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option.

Accounts & Sign-in

How do I sign in?

You can sign in two ways: enter your email and we'll send you a one-time sign-in link, or sign in with your email and a password if you've set one.

I didn't get my sign-in or confirmation email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first, and if you find it there, mark it "Not junk" so future emails arrive normally. Our emails come from noreply@leaseledgerhunt.com. Sign-in links work once and expire after a short time, so if yours is old, request a new one from the sign-in page.

How do I set a password?

Sign in with an emailed link, then go to the Account page and use "Set a password." After that you can sign in with your email and password without waiting for an email.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Use the password reset option on the sign-in page. We'll email you a link that brings you to your Account page, where you can choose a new password.

How do I change the name other members see?

Go to the Account page and update "Your name." That's the name shown on the bulletin board, the roster, and the Morning Board. You'll need to set a real name before you can post on the bulletin board.

Can I choose which page opens when I sign in?

Yes. On the Account page, under "Home page," choose either the Bulletin or the Board. That's where signing in and tapping the logo will take you.

How do I delete my account?

Send us a request through the Contact page from the email address on your account, and we'll take care of it.

Morning Board & Stands

How do I claim a stand or blind?

Open the Board, pick the day and whether you're hunting the morning, the afternoon, or all day, then tap an open stand to claim it. Everyone in your club sees your claim right away, so two people don't end up in the same spot.

How far ahead can I book a stand?

Your club sets that. By default, members can book up to 7 days ahead.

How do I check in and out?

Tap check in when you get to your stand, and check out when you leave. When you check out, you'll be asked for a quick hunt report.

What is the hunt report?

When you check out, LeaseLedger asks how your hunt went. You can log a harvest, or record the species you saw, with a count, sex, and whether a male was a "shooter." Those sightings feed your club's analytics and the "Where Should I Hunt?" suggestions.

What does the wind warning on a stand mean?

Stands can be set up with the wind directions they hunt best in. When the wind doesn't match a stand's good winds, the Board flags it so you can pick a spot where your scent won't blow toward where the animals are expected.

What does "Where Should I Hunt?" do?

It ranks your club's stands using the live wind at each property right now and recent trail cam activity. Stands with a good wind come first, and within those, stands with more trail cam activity in the last 14 days rank higher. It's a suggestion to help you decide, not a guarantee. Live wind needs a ZIP code set on the property.

Can more than one person hunt the same blind?

Yes. The member who claimed the blind, or anyone already in their party, can add other club members or type in a guest's name. That's built for duck blinds and other group hunts.

Who can add or change stands?

Club admins and managers can add stands and blinds, set their type and good wind directions, and place them on the map.

What kinds of stands and blinds are supported?

Box blinds, ladder stands, hang-ons, climbers, ground blinds, pit blinds, traditional duck blinds, and floating blind stakes, plus "other" for anything that doesn't fit.

Properties & Maps

What is a tract?

A tract is one of your club's properties or hunting areas. Stands and trail cameras belong to a tract, and the tract's ZIP code is what LeaseLedger uses for weather and live wind.

Can I map my property boundaries?

Yes. You can draw a property's boundary on the map. In supported states, club leaders can also build boundaries from public parcel lines.

Does LeaseLedger track my location?

No. LeaseLedger only uses your location when you tap "Use my location," for example to drop a stand pin, mark where a harvest happened, or center the map. There's no background tracking.

Harvests

How do I log a harvest?

Use the Harvest tab, or log it from the hunt report when you check out of a stand. You can record the species, weapon, sex, and details like points, weight, or band number, add up to three photos, and optionally drop a pin where it happened.

Which species can I log?

LeaseLedger includes big game, turkey and upland birds, ducks, geese, small game, and furbearers. Your club's officers choose which species appear for your club. Ducks use Drake and Hen for sex.

Who can see my harvest records?

Members of your club. Harvest records are never shared with other clubs.

Can LeaseLedger replace my state's harvest reporting?

No. LeaseLedger is a record-keeping tool for your club. You're still required to report harvests to your state wildlife agency however your state requires.

Trail Cams

How do trail cams work in LeaseLedger?

Add each camera with a pin on the map and link it to nearby stands. Then upload photos and videos from the camera's card and tag the species. Your club's analytics and "Where Should I Hunt?" use that activity.

What does LeaseLedger add to my trail cam photos?

When you upload a photo, LeaseLedger reads the date and time it was taken and adds the weather and moon phase for that moment, so you can spot patterns over time.

Can LeaseLedger connect directly to my cellular trail camera?

Not currently. You upload photos and videos yourself.

Club Management

What are the different member roles?

Each club has admins, managers, members, and guests. Admins run the club. Managers can also manage stands, properties, and trail cams. Clubs can also name officers, like a president, secretary, or treasurer, and officers act as club leaders.

How do club rules and voting work?

Club leaders can post the club's rules and propose updated versions. Depending on how your club is set up, a change takes effect right away, after leaders approve it, or after enough members vote to ratify it. Rules can be imported from a Word document, PDF, spreadsheet, or Google Doc.

How does dues tracking work?

Officers set the club's dues amount and due date, then record each member's payments, including the method and a reference like a check number. Everyone can see where their own dues stand.

How do guest passes work?

Officers can create a guest pass with the guest's name, visit dates, and any guest fee. Each pass comes with an access code. The guest signs up and enters that code on the Join page to get guest access to the club.

What is the club to-do list?

Officers post work that needs doing, like mowing lanes or fixing a gate. Any member can check a task off and add a note, photos, and what it cost, so the club knows who did what.

How do members communicate in the app?

The bulletin board is for club-wide posts, and you can @mention a member to get their attention. Members can also send each other private messages.

What does the Analytics page show?

Tallies of harvests, hunt-report sightings, and trail cam activity, broken down by property, stand, member, camera, and species.

Privacy & Support

Who can see my club's information?

Your club's records, like the Board, harvests, and messages, are visible to members of your club, and that's enforced by the database itself, not just the app screens. Private messages are visible only to the sender and recipient.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell your data.

How do I contact support or report a problem?

Use the Contact page. It's also the place to request features or ask anything not covered here.
